The Hub exists because almost nothing written about running a household or a week is aimed at people who are already competent and simply overloaded. Advice is either aspirational, with routines designed for people who have help and quiet mornings, or it is a product pitch. We wanted a resource for working adults, parents, carers and students who need their logistics to stop leaking into their evenings, and who have neither the time nor the appetite for an overhaul.
What we set out to do
Our aim is to make the craft of everyday management understandable to people with no background in organizing systems and no patience for jargon. We think a handful of standing rules, kept for a few months, achieve more than any amount of enthusiasm, and that routines should be sized for a tired weekday rather than an inspired weekend. Everything on this site follows from that.
What we are
- An independent educational publisher. No tool, app or product sponsors our recommendations.
- A focused walkthrough of one approach to running a life, rather than a survey of every method available.
- Written for beginners. You need no planner, no app and no previous system to use any of it.
What we are not
- Not a quick fix. Routines take weeks to settle and we say so.
- Not a promise. We do not guarantee any outcome, in your home, your work or your finances; how things turn out depends on your situation and your effort.
- Not connected with Google, Meta, YouTube or any other platform. None of them endorse or sponsor this site.
- Not a replacement for a doctor, therapist, lawyer or financial adviser. Where a question belongs with a professional, we point you there.
How the guides are made
Our writers have spent years running busy households and testing routines on real weeks, and we check our material against published research on habit formation and attention wherever such research exists. When a reader shows us something unclear or wrong, we fix it and note the revision date. We would rather publish ten reliable routines than a hundred clever ones.
